The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise from the nation that those who serve or have served in the armed forces, and their families, are treated fairly.
It is a pledge that together we acknowledge and understand that those who serve or who have served in the armed forces, and their families, should be treated with fairness and respect in the communities, economy and society they serve with their lives. The Covenant supports serving personnel, service leavers, veterans, and their families, and is fulfilled by the different groups that have committed to making a difference.
At Eco Drift, we proudly recognise the immense value that serving personnel, reservists, veterans, and military families bring to our business and community. We are committed to upholding the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant by:
- Promoting our armed forces-friendly status across our website, staff newsletters, and company materials.
- Supporting the employment of veterans, both young and old, by working closely with the Career Transition Partnership (CTP) to create tailored employment pathways for Service Leavers.
- Recognising military skills and qualifications during our recruitment process to ensure veterans are given full consideration for new positions.
- Striving to support the employment of Service spouses and partners, by advertising through service-friendly channels and offering flexible working opportunities where feasible.
- Exploring flexible working arrangements to support military spouses and partners who may need to relocate due to service commitments.
- Aiming to provide a level of flexibility in granting leave for Service spouses and partners before, during, and after deployments, acknowledging that military schedules can be unpredictable.
- Supporting employees who are members of the Reserve forces, accommodating their training and deployment where possible.
- Engaging with local Armed Forces and supporting community initiatives, such as fundraising activities and awareness events.
- Encouraging participation in Armed Forces-related events, including Armed Forces Day, Reserves Day, the Poppy Appeal, and Remembrance activities.
- Signposting members of the Armed Forces Community to relevant support services, such as Cobseo and the Veterans’ Gateway, and the Armed Forces Network, to help them access additional assistance..
